There’s something about living on an acreage that is becoming more appealing to Calgarians.

Having land is an obvious reason.

But so is the fact of moving away from the hustle and bustle of the city, which has become busier each year.

The latest data from the Calgary Real Estate Board indicates the appeal of acreage living has increased.

In August, there were 63 sales in the country residential (acreage) category on the MLS system. That’s up almost 37 per cent from the 46 sales registered in August 2010.

But living on an acreage is costly.

The average sale price in August was $829,621, up almost five per cent from last year’s $790,815.
